Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee #803
Friday Sep 18, 2020
Friday Sep 18, 2020
These week my daughter came home singing, "Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee." When I heard her singing that, I thought that was a hymn that I could have a little fun with this week.
The tune is from Beethoven's 9th Symphony, and the original orchestral piece is quite elaborate. You've probably also heard many variations on this music, including in popular adaptations.
I was shooting for a style that hearkens back to the symphony.
I hope you don't mind me having a little fun with this one . . . .
Of course, I have done the hymn a cappella as on the last several hymns. Hope you enjoy it.
The text and the music is in the public domain.
