The Creation Part IV - The Creation of Man
Saturday Jun 20, 2020
Saturday Jun 20, 2020
The Creation narrative is foundational to understanding our origins. Whether a person believes in biblical creation or the evolutionary narrative, one has to acknowledge that no one was there in the beginning who was alive today. The Bible tells us that there was one there who witnessed what happened and passed this knowledge to Moses, who wrote the first five books of the Bible. Our hymn is #604 from the LSB, "I Bind Unto Myself Today." All the readings come from the English Standard version of Scripture.

In celebration of Trinity Sunday
THIS IS A HYMN ONLY -for the full podcast, click on the episode below this (on this podcast's homepage).
Last night I finished a podcast somewhat later in the evening, and I like to do a hymn at the end, but playing piano and singing takes me a while to get everything right. Because Trinity Sunday is coming up, I thought I’d at least sing a verse, but then I added a little reverb, which led me to 4 part harmony, then another verse, then another verse, then a final verse with parts as well. The product of that is what the end of last night’s podcast finished with. My original intention was to keep it simple.
But then today I wanted to fix some things, and fill out the last verse some more with parts. Here it is.

On this week when we observe the Ascension of Christ we continue with the rest of the message of Acts 17. Paul talks about an altar in Athens that was dedicated "to the unknown God." How did Paul turn this to talk about the true God, His purposes in this world, and His Son Jesus? This is Paul at the Areopagus Part II.

Thursday Apr 23, 2020
This week's podcast looks at hope versus hopelessness. Hope is too often cut off when the good things are just getting started. The hope we have in Jesus is fulfilled hope . . . . The podcast concludes with the traditional hymn, "Abide with Me." (#878 from the Lutheran Service Book, CPH, 2006)
