The Stations of the Cross for GOOD FRIDAY
Recorded in 2021, we observe Good Friday with the Stations of the Cross Service . . . . May this service be a blessing to you as you remember how our Lord died upon the cross to atone for our sins. Our Lord Jesus Christ is now risen . . . . Let us hear God's word together and recall how Jesus, the lamb of God, takes away the sin of the world . . . .

A Microcosm of Eden?
Friday Apr 08, 2022
Friday Apr 08, 2022
Exodus 30 and 31 are covered.
The holiness of God-overwhelming-yet God comes to atone for us and redeem us; He makes it so that we can come into His presence. We have a mediator who atones for us, our Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit who advocates for us . . . .
The tabernacle was a microcosm of Eden, a place of renewed connection with God; could such harmony last?
No. Thankfully, we have a Savior that makes us right with our Holy Heavenly Father, who loved the world so much that He sent His Son to atone for us . . . .
The hymn: When I Survey the Wondrous Cross
A public domain hymn.

Exodus 29
The priests of old were not righteous of themselves to come before the presence of God. God purified them to come before His presence in the tabernacle.
Jesus took on the foolishness of OUR sins; He was crucified outside Jerusalem, bearing all our sins, that we might have life.
The Hymn: Glory Be to Jesus
A public domain hymn.

The Treasures of God
Friday Mar 25, 2022
Friday Mar 25, 2022
Exodus 27 and 28
Beautiful works and treasures are made for God's sanctuary and the place of His presence in the tabernacle. Most all are plundered from Egypt in the Exodus, but these works are always models of greater things to come.
Actions speak louder than words, and the real treasure is . . . YOU, purchased with the righteous and precious blood of His Son Jesus Christ. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son . . . . And who did He give His Son for? You.
The hymn is #434 Lamb of God, Pure and Holy
This is a newly recorded hymn this week, and it is a public domain hymn.

Models of Greater Things
Friday Mar 18, 2022
Friday Mar 18, 2022
Exodus 25 and 26
The Mercy Seat from the Ark in the Tabernacle is seen as a place where God spoke to Moses and instructed him. This is a model of the greater tabernacle to come, God's Son, clothed in human flesh . . . .
We might recall the hymn "Abide with Me" as we think of how Jesus comes as our savior, kind and good, with healing in His wings; He comes as the friend of sinners . . . .
The hymn this day is: Savior When in Dust to Thee (a public domain hymn).

Friday Mar 04, 2022
Friday Mar 04, 2022

God lays out laws, instructions for festivals, and begins to reveal His plan for bringing Israel into Canaan. Will they follow His ways and His plans?

In a Better World . . . .
Friday Feb 25, 2022
Friday Feb 25, 2022
Exodus 22.
In a perfect world, people would not need any laws or guidance to govern their behavior because they would always do what is right.
The laws of today can be arbitrary in nature-according to human whim. The laws of Scripture are in line with the Ten Commandments and God's law.
We don't live in a perfect world-but we look forward to a better world to come in Jesus Christ.
The Hymn: Built on the Rock

The Trouble with Bondage
Friday Feb 18, 2022
Friday Feb 18, 2022
Exodus 21.
We know that something is not right with the world-in a perfect world, in the God that world originally intended, slavery does not belong.
God's people who had been slaves themselves practiced slavery . . . . This was not because slavery was good and right and noble, but because it is a condition of the Fallen world. In God's kingdom there will be no slavery. Jesus has conquered all forms of bondage. Jesus is the truth, and the truth sets us free . . . .
The hymn: What is the World to Me?

Searching for Paradise
Friday Feb 11, 2022
Friday Feb 11, 2022
Exodus 20.
God has put eternity into man's heart, yet, the version of "paradise" that man devises on this earth can be hell on earth. God's law is a piece of heaven, and establishes peace for us on this earth. If we obey it, life will be better, yet, God sent Jesus to save because He knew we could not keep it fully. Someday, our image will be in the likeness of God once again-it will be written fully on our hearts, when we are united with God in real paradise.
The hymn: Just as I Am
